6th EuroTITAN General Assembly

Two days of technical exchange, strategic discussion and collaboration at RWTH Aachen University

The 6th EuroTITAN General Assembly was held on 17–18 September at RWTH Aachen University. Over two intensive days, the consortium reviewed progress across the entire process chain, from hydrogen-based reduction and smelting, slag processing and hydrometallurgical separation to titanium production, process scale-up and real-time optimisation.

The meeting went beyond reporting technical results. Dedicated round-table discussions allowed the partners to examine critical interfaces between the different process steps, identify remaining challenges and coordinate priorities for the next phase. Sustainability assessment, standardisation, circularity, freedom to operate, market potential and communication were also central to the discussions, reflecting the need to develop not only a technically viable process, but one with a credible route towards industrial application.

A visit to the IME facilities brought many of these discussions closer to practice.

As we prepare to enter the final year of the project, we are confident in the progress made and excited to take the next steps towards bringing greener titanium-extraction technology to the European market. Follow EURO-TITAN and join us on the final stage of this journey!
